How it works

From the doorway to the dashboard

When you need a precise number at a specific door, gate or room, a dedicated sensor is the right tool. It counts everyone who crosses the line, in both directions, whether or not they carry a connected device.

  1. 1

    Install

Leading 3D people-counting sensors are mounted overhead at the entrances, gates and spaces you want to count.

  2. 2

    Register

Add sensors in bulk by serial number and assign them to a location. Each one is checked before it is saved.

  3. 3

    Report

Counts flow in automatically and are rolled up by hour, day, week, month and year, ready to report on.

What you get

Numbers you can stand behind

From the safety officer to the leasing team, everyone works from the same exact counts.

Counters

Count the way you talk about your venue

A single sensor can watch several doors, lines and zones. Group them into named counters, like a north entrance made of three doors or a hall with its own occupancy count, and report on those directly.

  • Combine several sensor lines into one named counter
  • Entry, exit, count, zone occupancy and queue counter types
  • Organised by location, the same locations as the rest of INCAPTIV

Sensor management

Roll out sensors across your estate

Add a whole site's sensors in one go by pasting their serial numbers. Each one is validated before it is saved, then its counting lines are ready to group into counters.

  • Paste a list of serial numbers to add many sensors at once
  • Duplicates and problems flagged before anything is saved
  • Every sensor, its counting lines and its location in one list

Better together

Exact at the door, insightful inside

Sensors give you the precise number at each threshold. Spatial Analytics shows how those people then move through the venue, using the Wi-Fi you already have. Use both in one platform, set up against the same locations.

People Counting

Exact numbers at a line

  • Counts everyone crossing a door, gate or threshold
  • Independent of phones and Wi-Fi
  • Best for entrances, capacity and official visitor numbers

Spatial Analytics

Movement across the whole venue

  • Footfall, dwell, zones and journeys from your Wi-Fi
  • No extra hardware to install
  • Best for how people use the space once inside

Counts, not people

FAQ

People Counting questions

Which sensors do you use?

INCAPTIV works with leading 3D people-counting sensors, mounted overhead above entrances, gates and spaces. They count people crossing a line or inside a zone in both directions. We will advise on the number and placement of sensors for your site.

How is People Counting different from Spatial Analytics?

People Counting gives an exact count at a specific door, gate or room, and counts everyone whether or not they carry a phone. Spatial Analytics uses your Wi-Fi to show how people move across the whole venue. Many venues use both: sensors for the official number at the door, Wi-Fi for what happens inside.

Can I combine several doors into one number?

Yes. Each sensor can have several counting lines and zones. You can group them into named counters, such as “North entrance” made up of three doors, and report on those counters directly.

Do I need Wi-Fi Engagement or Spatial Analytics to use it?

No. People Counting works on its own. If you already use INCAPTIV, sensors are set up against the same locations, so all of your data sits in one platform.

Does people counting capture images or personal data?

INCAPTIV stores counts: numbers and timestamps for each counting line or zone. It does not store images and does not identify individuals.

How detailed is the reporting?

Counts are stored and rolled up by hour, day, week, month and year, so you can report on a single morning or compare across whole seasons.
